DETROIT DIRT – Owned & operated by Pashon Murray, an environment activist, whom collects food waste from local Detroit restaurants and businesses, creating compost, educating children about how important it is to recycle and cut down on waste, as well as building rooftop garden beds for local restaurants.
This co-branding project worked with SHINOLA’s brand, known for their high quality products and giving back to the community. Both brands collaborating together, gave DD more brand awareness, while harnessing into SHINOLA’s product development teams for unique pieces and educating communities and children about sustainability of the earth.
DETROIT DIRT & BAD ROBOT – Meeting w/ J.J. Abrams for brand awareness
Detroit Dirt & Bad Robot– Presentation to J.J. Abrams and his team with Pashon Murray to amplify awareness, creating change by engaging Hollywood. Social media, fundraising and the use of J.J. Abrams love of old school printmaking, was the idea for executing her book, “Pashon For The Earth,” that would be incorporated within the Shinola hand made wooden boxed gardening sets. Pashon spoke of where Detroit has been and the upside of Detroit’s journey, believing anything is possible. She showed past pictures, then moving towards current, with the rebuilding of the city and focused on urban farming, reusing food waste, with communities working together for the sustainability of our earth.
I created about 10 hand made ‘leave behinds’. I had 1 Pewabic tile (as I wanted to use something that was made in Detroit) within each box and a double sided card, using Detroit Dirt’s mission statement. Added some touches, like using my fingerprint dipped in matte brown colored paint, to have it look like it was touched with Detroit’s dirt...
Pure Hair is a family owned boutique salon located in the heart of Bloomfield Township, Michigan. They are committed to providing a service that encompasses health and beauty for hair, skin and nails.
Pure Hair was a new business that needed their own branding from the logo, to marketing materials, menus, merchandise, interior graphics and decor, as well as exterior signage.
Deroy & Devereaux is a financial advisory firm, located in Southfield, MI. They wanted a logo/brand refresh, which was then consistently applied throughout all newly printed marketing materials and website. High quality paper, using an embossing technique with foil was incorporated, giving D&D a simple yet timeless look.
Trion Solutions is a company based out of Troy, MI, working with companies to relieve the stress and burden of HR administration, so they can remain focused on their core businesses. And, for large corporations, Trion acts as an extension of their internal HR staff to handle time-consuming HR tasks so they can remain focused on hiring, training and strategic HR areas.
When I started this project, Trion Solutions was looking for a full brand overhaul, updating the look and feel of the brand, making it more current. The logo and it’s properties are used throughout all marketing materials, website, commercials and the main office space, including exterior signage.

GRAPHICS
LC Brand Vehicles/Carriers are where the brand is expressed, either overtly or subliminally. Color, brand mark, character, as well as pattern and texture can carry the brand. It should express the brand messages and carry the brand values in its execution. Graphic Methods: Heritage displays, vinyl film, either on the windows to conference rooms and offices or applied directly to architectural walls.

Wayfinding is delivered using three distinct methods:
1. Video Monitors at Elevator Banks
2. Blade Signs at Arched openings of corridors
3. Column wraps at 2nd and 3rd floor corridors.

Von Staden Architects of Royal Oak, MI was looking to update their website, adding current work, while creating a clean portfolio based look and feel, using minimal body copy. The home page had a rotating static area which showcased selected photos of their current client work.
When clicking the “Clients” section, staggered photo blocks of each client project, would turn dark as the cursor passed over, letting the viewer know what area they were in. Once clicking a client box, it would take the viewer to another page with a scrolling slideshow, exhibiting project images.
